You will be the Navigation Engineer – Level 2 for the AMMM Communications, Navigation, and Sensors Team which is responsible for delivering cutting‑edge RF solutions that power our aircraft’s communications, navigation, and sensor capabilities.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Navigation Engineer you will be responsible for driving the design, analysis, and integration of navigation systems—including embedded GPS/INS and flight‑management systems—to enable high‑performance mission outcomes. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to turn requirements into reliable, field‑ready solutions.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering impact analyses of navigation systems and their dependents.
- Support the design, test, and integration of flight‑management systems, embedded GPS/INS, and related hardware.
- Collaborate with system and software teams to translate requirements into RF‑specific solutions.
- Generate technical documentation and reports for design reviews and certification.
- Participate in troubleshooting and sustainment activities for fielded aircraft.

Location and Security RequirementsMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must obtain an active Secret clearance.
This position is in Marietta, GA.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in RF Engineering, a related STEM discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Basic knowledge of Communication systems to include radios, antennas, and/or other related communication subsystems.
- Experience with design, development, and integration of Communication systems.
- Proficient in system engineering processes.
- Experience with navigation avionics (GPS, INS, EGI, FMS, ANAV, etc.).
- Knowledge of Military and/or Government programs.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
Work ScheduleLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. This position follows a 4x10 hour day schedule with 3 days off per week.
