Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Siemens S7 PLC Controls Engineer with expertise in water pump systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring, programming, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup of our water pump systems across various project locations.
Scope
- Duration: 6 Months
- Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Proven experience with Siemens S7 PLCs, specifically with SIMATIC STEP 7 and TIA S7-1200 programming. - Pay Rate: DOE
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Electrical contractor for the removal and replacement of PLC hardware.
- Assist with wiring and configuring a generic program for station two (2) pump lead/lag operation.
- Assist with the configuration of the program for station three (3) pump lead/lag operation.
- For select stations, help with the configuration of programs for variable‑speed pump operations, including lead/lag and XOR operations.
- Be proficient in migrating older Siemens programs to newer hardware platforms ensuring seamless upgrades and functionality.
- Work alongside the Electrical contractor to ensure seamless integration of PLC with HMI across all necessary sites.
- Collaborate with other contractors, suppliers, utility owners, and Owner's employees to ensure smooth project execution.
- Help secure all necessary permits required for project execution as specified in the Contract Drawings and Specifications.
- Assist with and help develop construction sequencing adhering to constraints listed.
- Coordinate access timings with customer staff and adhere to work‑hour regulations.
- Collaborate with our Electrical installer to prepare detailed work plans for any system modifications and tie‑ins.
- Coordinate with the Owner and attend mandatory meetings before any modification or tie‑in begins.
- Ensure standby equipment or personnel are available as required for critical operations.
- Experience with radio communications is a significant plus for effective remote troubleshooting and system optimizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience with Siemens S7 PLCs, specifically with SIMATIC STEP 7 and TIA S7-1200 programming.
- Extensive knowledge of water pump systems, their commissioning, and startup.
- Ability to understand and interpret contract specifications and drawings.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- The role encompasses all aspects of labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other incidentals required.
- Work must be completed and ready for continuous service within the stipulated timelines.
- All permits and coordination meetings are the responsibility of the contractor.
