Job Description

The Cardiovascular Delivery System Engineer will work with the team to design, develop, and test the delivery system for our transcatheter valve replacement system. Work may include communication with surgeons and sales consultants, to gain an understanding of clinical issues and define design parameters.

Tasks will include working with cross‑functional project teams through all phases of the product development process.

  • Assist in spec development, design conceptualization and concept prototyping
  • Source vendors for components and sub-assemblies
  • Create component and assembly drawings for manufacturing
  • Develop fixtures, tooling and processes for manufacturing of final product through a combination of in‑house and out‑of‑house suppliers
  • Perform testing of prototypes for design evaluation
  • Assist in the development and execution of design verification and validation plans and activities, test plan formation and execution to support regulatory approval

Strong organizational skills to support all aspects of the project including scope definition, and contingency planning. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload, exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, and interface effectively with peers, cross‑functional project teams, and management.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant catheter design experience
  • Experience with 3‑D CAD modeling and drafting, preferably Solid Works.
  • Familiarity with injection molding design a plus
  • Knowledge of medical materials related to catheters (i.e. Polymers, Nitinol, Stainless Steels, Fluoropolymers, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a strong initiative and follow through in executing project responsibilities, overcoming obstacles, and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other team members, cross‑functional teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Experience with FDA Medical Device guidelines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced start‑up environment.
