Civil Engineer

The Civil/Structural Engineer will oversee the development and review of design packages for medium to large capital projects. Working independently or as part of a team, they will manage assigned projects with a strong focus on schedule, budget, and quality. This role requires leading design efforts both in-house and through contracted engineering services, coordinating across disciplines, and ensuring structural integrity throughout all phases of project execution.

• Lead and review structural and civil designpackages to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Develop engineering sketches into complete construction documents, including plans, sections, and details.
• Coordinate designefforts across disciplines (architectural, mechanical, civil) and with third-party engineering firms to ensure timely and aligned project delivery.
• Conduct technical reviews to verify design accuracy, constructability, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure that all design meets applicable code requirements and QC standards.
• Participate in PHA/HAZOP reviews and collaborate with Safety and Environmental teams.
• Provide construction-phase support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing field inspections.
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including calculations, specifications, and reports.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree - in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Approximately 10+ years of total experience in heavy industrial structural design and layout.
• A proven record in managing design efforts and effective leadership in a team environment.
• Experience in the development of 3D models of concrete and steel structures in multiple software, including Bentley 3D, AVEVA E3D, Auto Cad Pro Structure, or Cadd Worxx software packages.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Familiar with local and international building codes.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
• Motivated and results-oriented individual.
• Firm understanding of cost/ schedule impacts on design and projects.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
