Senior Field Service Engineer Job Description
Position Summary:
As a Senior Field Service Engineer (SFSE) you will support Vanderlande customer sites from a mechanical and electromechanical perspective. This role will primarily support the launching of new customer sites, with occasional support at existing facilities. The work will be alongside customer employees acting as a consultant, supporting incident restoration, root cause analysis, and other system improvements.
Essential Functions- Support troubleshooting incidents on Vanderlande supplied equipment
- Working alongside the customers to perform system maintenance
- Performing health checks and audits on the mechanical aspects of the system
- Performing emergency corrective maintenance
- Act as main liaison between the site and Vanderlande on electromechanical issues
- Work to process and elevate as required
- Write up incident summaries and provide reports as and when required
- Experienced to degree level in a relevant competency

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in material handling systems
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics or mechanical engineering
- 5 years’ experience in supporting material handling systems
- Strong communication skills, written & verbal
- Able to work on own initiative
- Able to prioritize work as and when needed
- Willing to learn and improve technical capabilities
- Good analytical skills
- Solution-oriented attitude
- Great troubleshooter and problem solver
This role will be focused on launching new customer buildings in North America. You will be required to travel most of the time on short-term assignments. Travel is estimated to be 75%-100%. In between travel assignments you will work out of the Vanderlande NA headquarters in Marietta GA.
