RF Systems Architect

Standard Job Description Directs the architecting and designing of Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Manages the design and development of RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Leads the staff responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test.

Oversees the preparation of the following: test methods and specifications; analysis and testing of RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. Manages the development of RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment.

Coordinates link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Manages the development and allocation of RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Oversees the identification and tracking of RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Monitors RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in a electrical engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
• Leading a team of engineers.
• Project management.
• Development and/or integration of mission systems.
• Earned Value techniques such as Control Account Management (CAM)
• Supplier management

• Technical leadership experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience presenting to internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with responding to customer proposals and other capture activities.
• Experience with Production and Sustainment of systems.
