Healthcare Nursing, Patient Care Technician
Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Patient Care Technician gives routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Healthcare Team. They can assist the day to day operations keeping the health center running efficiently and effectively. They will prepare the patient for the clinicians. Also they will transport patients, assist with obtaining lab work, vital signs, purposeful rounding, clerical duties, clean and prepare rooms for next patient and other duties as assigned.
EducationCertificate of Healthcare - Required
Experience1-2 Years - Preferred
License & CertificationProfessional Certification or Patient Care Technician with 2 Years verifiable experience or Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals of nursing - Required
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Core Job Functions- Complies with regulatory guidelines for work area and professional practice. Communicates patient safety risks to appropriate providers. Performs interventions under the direction of the RN/LPN.
- Patients are identified per guidelines and patient care interventions are provided under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtains and documents patient assessments according to hospital/ department guidelines.
- Assists in procedures/ exams as directed. Obtains necessary supplies, equipment, and/ or personnel as needed. Communicates data by timely documentation and reporting of abnormal or patient status change to RN/LPN.
