Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts including 2 late shifts
• Work 1 night per week and 1 weekend every four weeks of call
• Function under the direction of registered professional nurse in moderate to high acuity surgical cases
• Prepare operative suite and surgical field to ensure safe patient care environment
• Maintain sterile field and address patient safety concerns
• Gather required instruments and supplies for procedures
• Serve as surgical assistant as needed during procedures
• Anticipate needs of surgeon and healthcare team members
• Perform surgical counts with circulator and participate in procedure pause/time-out
• Scrub, gown, and glove; assist in gowning and gloving surgeon and assistants
• Pass instruments to surgeon and maintain organized back table and operative field
• Prepare sterile dressings and participate in post-procedure pause
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assist with inventory, ordering and stocking ORs and perioperative areas
• Transport patients and provide age-appropriate comfort and safety measures
• Required certifications: BLS, CST or TS-C(NCCT) or CSFA or CSA
• National certification required upon hire
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must maintain 20 hours of continuing education per evaluation period
• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel required
• Ability to work in stressful and emergency situations essential
