DESCRIPTION of the position:
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) works directly with children with disabilities, to provide in-home care and support. Behavior Support Aides Service delivery includes structured tasks that consist of a comprehensive functional behavioral assessment of challenging behavior(s).
LOCATION:
Sharpsburg, GA
Schedule:
Wednesday 4:00pm - 9:00pm / Saturday 10:00am - 6:00pm / Sundays 10:00am - 6:00pm / PRN
- Implement 1:1 behavioral intervention program for children with autism in their homes.
- Assist and encourage with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Observe and record a child's behaviors through data input into an electronic device and log hours and data accurately.
- Communicate with supervisory staff
- Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors.
- Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work.
- Complete daily session notes in a timely and thorough manner
- Attend and participate in additional trainings or meetings.
- Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions.
- Must have a minimum of 1 full year of CNA experience
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is preferred
- Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Previous experience with tonic and focal seizure patients is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and implement behavior intervention plans accurately
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals with special needs
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to travel to client locations as needed
