The Legal Support Expert will be part of a centralized department, consisting of experienced legal professionals who can step into different areas, firmwide, during times of staffing shortages, the opening of new offices or teams with a flux of projects, and provide those teams with a range of case management support, while maintaining excellent legal service standards. This center will be an extension of our training and professional development department as we strive to provide support through education, training, and mentoring initiatives.
As a Legal Support Expert, you will exercise your strong time management and communication skills, ability to prioritize requests while adhering to written procedures, communicate instructions, local court rules/procedures, and exercise strong research skills and discipline while working remotely and independently.
Required Qualifications:- Minimum of 1 year working fully remote for a law firm.
- Minimum of 3 consecutive years as a Defense legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm.
- Minimum of 1 year in a law firm or other professional environment in a training role, as a corporate trainer or educator preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal assistant responsibilities.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and client guidelines independently.
- Ability to balance the needs of multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, growing law firm.
- Ability to work independently with little instruction.
- Access to internet.
- Provide day-to-day case management support to multiple attorneys and/or litigation teams: opening and closing files, heavy scheduling, drafting pleadings, managing NPNP processes and medical records, drafting letters and other correspondence.
- Adhere to Client guidelines.
- Adhere to written procedures overseeing firmwide processes and team-specific procedures.
- Adhere to the individual litigation team’s communicated instructions regarding tasks and deadlines.
- Adhere to the individual litigation team’s local rules and procedures.
- Maintain and manage task lists.
- Maintain and manage relationships and communications with client contacts, experts, and/or vendors.
- Maintain and manage individual Teams calendars and case deadlines.
- Maintain and manage individual Teams court mail.
- Maintain and manage administrative tasks, including but not limited to scanning, copying, data entry, and processing invoices.
- Maintain and manage firmwide case management systems.
