Cloud First is seeking a Facilities Manager to work from our location in Marietta, GA. This is an on-site position. The Facilities Manager owns Cloud First’s physical data-center footprint and multisite facilities operations, keeping every environment stable, secure, and audit-ready while running facilities as a cost-accountable function. This role leads the on-site data-center operations team, manages colocation and vendor relationships, and is accountable for facility capacity, cost, and compliance across Cloud First’s data centers.
Because these responsibilities have historically concentrated in one person, a core expectation of the role is to build documented process and coverage so that no critical facility function depends on a single individual.
- Own day-to-day operations of Cloud First’s data-center facilities, including the Atlanta data center and partner and colocation sites, and manage the on-site data-center operations staff.
- Manage colocation and vendor relationships (colo providers, smart-hands and contractors at remote sites), and own the associated contracts, service levels, and costs.
- Carry facility cost and P&L accountability: build and manage the facilities budget, track and allocate deployment and facility costs to projects and clients, and drive cost efficiency across sites.
- Maintain physical-controls compliance evidence for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS, including data-center access logs, CCTV, badging, and environmental monitoring, and support internal and external audits.
- Own the hardware and asset lifecycle: inventory and asset tracking across the fleet, stock thresholds and availability, shipping and receiving, deployment, and decommissioning.
- Manage capacity and planning: power density, rack layout, cooling, and growth planning across the footprint.
- Lead facility build-outs, consolidations, and closures with cost discipline, including site transitions and decommissions.
- Maintain facilities documentation: installation guides, runbooks, and site templates, so operations are repeatable and transferable.
- Build coverage depth: cross-train and document so critical facility functions have more than one trained, access-provisioned owner.
- Proven experience managing data-center facilities or operations, including leading an on-site team.
- Budget or P&L accountability for a facility, department, or site.
- Multisite or colocation operations experience, including managing remote sites through contractors and smart-hands.
- Working knowledge of physical data-center infrastructure: power, cooling, rack and cabling, power density, and shipping and receiving of hardware.
- Experience producing and maintaining physical-security and environmental compliance evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS audits.
- Data-center facilities certification (for example Uptime Institute or a recognized DC operations program).
- Familiarity with enterprise and IBM Power hardware and with colocation providers.
- Cost discipline and vendor management: negotiates, tracks, and allocates spend, and holds providers to their commitments.
- Strong documentation habit: builds guides, runbooks, and asset records that let others carry the work.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to coordinate geographically distributed teams and partners.
- Leadership of a small on-site team, with attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Take full ownership of the Atlanta data-center operations and the colocation-provider relationship, and complete the knowledge transfer from the outgoing owner.
- Produce a facilities cost and capacity baseline across the footprint (spend, power, rack, and growth headroom).
- Confirm the physical-controls audit evidence is current and owned, with no gaps ahead of the next audit cycle.
- Deliver a coverage plan so no critical facility function depends on one person.
