Overview

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining all inventory accurately and efficiently utilizing an ERP system. This role requires tracking, recording, and managing inventory levels while ensuring the proper flow of incoming and outgoing parts to meet company standards. A successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be detail oriented, have strong computer skills, and be able to communicate effectively across all departments within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and bills of materials (BOMs) for manufactured parts and assemblies.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using the ERP system.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and BOMs to confirm material and component requirements for production.
  • Receive, inspect, and log incoming materials into the ERP system.
  • Manage rejections of non-conforming materials and coordinate resolutions.
  • Physically store materials in designated storage zones and maintain storage locations in computer systems.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and real-time updates of material movements, transfers, and adjustments in the system.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Maintain clean and well-organized storage areas, bins, racks, and labeling systems.
  • Utilize computer applications to generate inventory reports and analyze data to support forecasting and procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and purchasing teams to verify incoming and outgoing materials align with work orders and shipment schedules.
  • Manage Kanban, Vendor Managed, and Customer-Supplied Inventory levels for accuracy, usage, and replenishment.
  • Uphold safety, quality, and housekeeping standards through 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material-handling equipment within safety guidelines.
  • Manage material handler team to ensure accurate material delivery and parts movement.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position in inventory control or warehouse coordination in a metal fabrication environment, or a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and BOMs.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Forklift and material handling certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand or walk in a warehouse environment for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and handling of materials.
