Mechanical Assembly Technician (NPI & Production)

$70,000-$90,000 + Overtime, Equity & Bonus and wider benefits

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Technician to support the build and development of next-generation power conversion technology. Working closely with engineers and senior technicians, you will help assemble prototypes and early-stage production units, ensuring every component is built accurately and to specification. Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble power electronic systems and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools
  • Install components, busbars, enclosures, and structural assemblies
  • Carry out point-to-point wiring, cable routing, crimping, and electrical integration
  • Prepare materials and kit components for production builds
  • Follow SOPs, assembly drawings, and work instructions to maintain quality standards
  • Complete build documentation and quality checklists
  • Manage inventory and support workshop organisation
  • Assist engineers during system testing and validation activities
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, automotive, or similar environments
  • Technical or vocational graduates with strong practical skills are encouraged to apply
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with soldering and wire crimping preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Comfortable working in a workshop environment and handling physical tasks
  • Exposure to NPI, R&D, or prototype environments
  • Familiarity with T-slot / 80-20 framing systems
  • Experience with manufacturing documentation and quality processes
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety practices
