Roles & Responsibilities
- Material Handling:
Move, load, and assist in various material handler roles under general supervision. - Exit Attendant:
Operate exit recoiler controls, package finished coils, and drive forklift. - Pack Line Operator:
Prepare and package finished coils in a safe manner to designated locations. - Forklift Operator:
Drive forklift to transport materials. - Crane Operator:
Pull raw coils, unwrap and inspect, unload/load trucks using overhead crane. - Shipping & Receiving:
Assist with all tasks involved in shipping and/or receiving raw materials. - Operations Support:
Assist operators on the paint line as needed.
- Operate exit recoiler controls, packaging line, forklift, and crane.
- Verify finished goods identifications and move them to storage.
- Prepare materials for packaging and shipping of finished coils.
- Provide flexible plant support and assignment assistance.
- Quarantine non‑conforming material and notify Quality Control.
- Communicate with Maintenance, Operations, and Quality Control to resolve issues.
- Transport a bore horizontal coil from coil cart to proper location using coil mat/chock.
- Provide backup to line operators as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Metals, coating, roll forming or industrial manufacturing experience.
- One year of manufacturing experience.
- Forklift experience.
- Crane operating experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Time management—prioritizing work to meet customer demands.
- Good communication skills.
- Mobile equipment operations skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules.
- Ability to work up to 12‑hour shifts.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
The employee may be required to enter areas near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme cold or heat. The noise level is moderate and may require hearing protection. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in certain manufacturing areas.
Physical DemandsPerform duties including talking or hearing, walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, using hands to handle tools, reaching with hands and arms. Must be capable of lifting a minimum weight of 50 pounds. Requires clear vision at close‑up and distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
