Description
You will be the Silk Screen Operator for the Signage Team which is responsible for producing high‑quality signs, decals, and posters using the silk screen process.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Silk Screen Operator you will be responsible for composing, laying out, and producing multicolor signs, metal nameplates, and decals, including the fabrication of silk screens and related materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning the composition of signs, including selecting layout, size, type, color, and spacing of letters and words.
- Creating free‑hand layouts, photographic films, and silk screens, and setting up equipment for screening and reproducing signs and decals.
- Operating photographic and automated sign‑making equipment, including computerized systems and variety of input/output devices.
- Making hand‑cut and photographic silk screens, and using layout tools, sign‑making, and photographic equipment.
- Matching and blending colors to meet customer specifications and visual aids.

Basic QualificationsTwo years of documented full time experience in silkscreen printing at a production silk screen shop which included art preparation silk screen frame setups to include registration for printing, mixing proper ink colors, printing with a squeegee using silkscreen mesh, cutting and trimming product such as decal papers, phenolics, and metals.
Up to one year of the required experience may be from performing computer illustration using graphic software, experience in thermal printing and vinyl cutting production, using a spray gun to apply inks and overcoats to a variety of materials, and/or photo metal processing to include operating a variety of shop equipment.
Requirements include lifting over 25 lbs., the ability to comprehend written instructions and to read detail blueprints, spell, and perform freehand layout sketches, drawings, and lettering.

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
