Job Summary
Position: Flexographic Press Operator
Location: Marietta, GA
Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday to Thursday, 2:30 pm to 1:30 am
This role is integral to ensuring the production of high‑quality flexographic label products. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team, maintain equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Basic Responsibilities- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to produce printed materials according to job specifications.
- Mix and adjust inks to achieve required colors, monitor ink viscosity, and maintain consistent print quality throughout the run.
- Perform routine press maintenance, including cleaning rollers, plates, and other press components; troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or print quality issues.
- Monitor print quality through visual inspections and measurement devices to ensure colors, registration, and other specifications meet customer requirements.
- Accurately record production data, including job setup details, materials used, and completed quantities.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding machine operation and hazardous materials.
- Work closely with production supervisors, ink technicians, and quality control staff to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Convert master rolls of stock into small rolls on slitter rewinders and tabletop finishing machines.
- Package finished goods into boxes, label, and seal in a neat and clean fashion.
- Remove finished rolls of products from press and clean out ink pans upon completion of printed jobs.
- Minimum of 4 years operating flexographic presses (e.g., 4‑color, 6‑color, or 10‑color presses).
- Technical aptitude and relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to assist teammates as needed.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Experience with MA P5 or similar 10‑color flexographic presses.
- Experience in coupon and booklet printing.
- Knowledge of UV and water‑based ink systems.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization.
