Overview
Pouching Machine Operator – 1st Shift 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Fortis Solutions Group is seeking a Pouching Machine Operator to join our team. Experience operating pouching equipment is a plus, but a positive attitude and willingness to grow are what matter most. The role involves operating a pouching machine to convert large press rolls into finished pouches according to customer specifications.
You will follow job tickets to ensure the correct pouch size, copy position, and other specifications. You are responsible for verifying the quality of manufactured pouches and reviewing product for defects to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. You may also box product or perform other finishing duties to ensure products are provided to shipping in a timely and accurate manner.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Review job work instructions/tickets and set up the pouch machine for the job, including zipper, gusset, seal areas, and copy position.
- Operate the machine to convert large press rolls into finished pouches for the customer.
- Review pouches for quality and consistency.
- Follow company procedures and requirements for verification of product and visual inspection with supervisor sign-off.
- Verify core IDs for finished pouches and place them outside of the boxes, following supervisor verification that the Core correct.
- Place finished pouches in the proper box, verify box , and place the box in the designated area for shipping or stock products.
- Communicate with Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and/or Scheduler regarding issues with the pouch, including over/under runs, pouch quality, or
-number questions. - Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow Fortis safety regulations.
- Additional duties as required.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of machine operation experience; printing-related production experience preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Motivated by task accomplishment and comfortable performing routine tasks at a high level.
- Proactive in catching problems or inconsistencies and bringing them to management’s attention.
- Good organization skills to manage multiple labels each day.

- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
- Lifting, standing, walking, crouching, and related repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random drug screening.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in a production environment.
- Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
- Safety glasses are recommended in the production area.
- Safety toe shoes are required in the production area.
