Job Summary
Operate flexographic printing presses on the 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday 2:30 pm–1:30 am) to produce high‑quality label products for customers in Marietta, GA. The role requires maintaining press setup, ink mixtures, print quality, and safety standards while working collaboratively with the production team.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to produce printed materials according to job specifications, ensuring accuracy and high-quality results.
- Mix and adjust inks to achieve the required colors, monitor ink viscosity, and maintain consistent print quality throughout the run.
- Perform routine press maintenance, including cleaning rollers, plates, and other components, and troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or print quality issues.
- Monitor print quality by conducting visual inspections and using measurement devices to ensure colors, registration, and other specifications meet customer requirements.
- Accurately record production data, including job setup details, materials used, and completed quantities.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work closely with production supervisors, ink technicians, and quality‑control staff to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Convert master rolls of stock into small rolls on slitter‑rewinders and tabletop finishing machines.
- Package finished goods into boxes, label and seal in a neat and clean fashion.
- Remove finished rolls of products from press and clean out ink pans upon completion of printed jobs.
- Minimum of 4 years operating flexographic presses (4‑color, 6‑color, or 10‑color).
- Technical aptitude with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to help team members and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Ability to work effectively in a production setting and meet deadlines.
- Experience with MA P5 or similar 10‑color flexographic presses.
- Experience with coupon and booklet printing.
- Knowledge of UV and water‑based ink systems.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization.
