Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview:

This is an exciting new role perfect for someone who wants to own a key piece of our programs cycle: attracting and onboarding new program participants!

This is a flex role that will adapt to the highest needs of the organization and programs team, focused on recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers, as well as family and youth, while maintaining a small caseload of matches (volunteer + foster families or youth + mentor) to stay closely connected to program impact. The person in this role will flex time and focus based on whether the higher need is volunteer recruitment or family/youth recruitment to ensure that we continue to be able to make matches without the waitlist for either growing too rapidly.

Schedule:

This is a full‑time, exempt position that allows for (and requires) a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Primary Focus:
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Matching (70%) Recruitment:
Volunteers, Family, and Youth
  • Understand the current volunteer or family/youth recruitment needs within the organization and conduct outreach as applicable, including (but not limited to):
  • Posting to partner websites;
  • sending recruitment emails;
  • sharing via word of mouth and social media;
  • attending networking and tabling events;
  • working closely with the marketing team.
  • Lead info sessions for partner agencies and/or caregivers.
  • Plan and host recruitment events.
  • Success in this area looks like:
  • Recruiting an average of 25 volunteers per month to attend discovery sessions.
  • Recruiting least 10 families/youth per month.
Intake, Assessment, and Onboarding
  • Conduct volunteer intake assessment calls to assess fit for Atlanta Angels Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs.
  • Conduct reference checks and guide volunteers through sensitive conversations related to trauma‑informed care and child welfare realities.
  • Ensure volunteers complete all onboarding steps including documentation, driver’s records, background checks, fingerprinting, and required trainings.
  • Lead monthly trainings to prepare volunteers for connection as a long‑term volunteer.
  • Family and youth onboarding:
  • Conduct family and youth intake calls to ensure eligibility for Atlanta Angels Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs and understand their needs and preferences to ensure best match.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records and case notes in Apricot.
  • Success in this area looks like:
  • Approving an average of 10 volunteers per month; and
  • Ensuring that at least 10 family/youth intakes are completed per month (some of which may be assigned to other Program Coordinators).
Volunteer & Waitlist engagement, matching, and ongoing coordination
  • Manage volunteer communications via email, phone, text, cards, and birthday/encouragement outreach.
  • Assess ongoing eligibility for families and youth on the waitlist.
  • Make matches between volunteers/mentors and families/youth.
  • Communicate the matches and quickly transition newly formed matches to the assigned PC to preserve capacity for core onboarding duties (except for those explicitly designated to the Specialist's small baseline caseload).
  • Maintain ongoing compliance checks and collect annual documentation for volunteers.
  • Plan and host volunteer/mentor mixers and meetups.
  • Success in this area looks like:
  • An average of 10 matches made in Love Box® and Dare to Dream® Programs (combined) per month and assigned to Program Coordinators.
Secondary Focus:
Flex Program Coordination (30%)

This role may also hold a small caseload of matches. The exact number will be based on capacity. As this is a flex role, this person may temporarily support matches during transitions, onboarding new Program Coordinators, and/or extended leaves.

Launching and supporting a match
  • Facilitate initial meetups and strengths assessments between families/youth and volunteers/mentors (may occur evenings/weekends).
  • Maintain monthly check‑ins with families, youth, and volunteers to support healthy, ongoing relationships.
  • Provide conflict resolution, resource connection, coaching, training, and support.
  • Serve as liaison between volunteers, foster families, and child placement agencies.
  • Connect families and youth with additional community resources when appropriate.
