Acute Care Nurse Practitioner​/Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery - Marietta

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position within Wellstar’s Neurosurgical practice.

Location:

United States of America. Shift: Day shift – 4 ten‑hour days per week, with a one‑in‑six weekend rotation.

• Perform first operating room (OR) assist duties approximately two days a week.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work‑ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Develop plans of care that minimize complications and troubleshoot problems when they arise.
• Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
• Complete pre‑op appointments for all surgical patients and work with the supervising physician to ensure that all required labs, clearances and testing are satisfactorily completed well before surgery.

• Previous neurosurgery experience preferred.
• Must hold an ACNP or AG‑ACNP certification (RNFA required) or physician‑assistant qualifications.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS/BLS) required.
• Certified in NIHSS and Modified Rankin Scale.
