Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. The RN works within a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The RN’s practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence‑based practice and research, and the RN upholds the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

  Part‑time Nights – 36 hours per pay period (one 12‑hour shift one week, two 12‑hour shifts the next week)

• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
  • Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to individualize care.
  • Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to population–specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and cultural diversity.
  • Partners with patients and significant others through appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, planned patient teaching) to keep them informed and focused on patient goals.
  • Practices using current clinical practice standards.
• Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including interdisciplinary communication and timely documentation.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and supports recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
  • Participates in performance improvement, including initiating or leading activities that promote safe, quality patient care and active participation in shared governance at all levels.
• Professional Development and Initiative
  • Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education.
  • Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students across all disciplines.
• Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
  • Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
  • Upholds all health‑care system policies, clinical competencies, and regulatory requirements (including TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Safety Absolutes).
  • Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions, consults experts, and employs appropriate resources to address practice questions.
• Resources and Support
  • Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum during direct care.
  • Participates in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • Supports efficient use of human and material resources.

• Required Minimum Education
  :
  Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing (or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).
• Required Minimum Experience
  :
  Less than 1 year; completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours.
• Required Minimum Skills
  :
  Direct patient care experience.
• Required Licenses and Certifications
  :
  Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact;
  Basic Life Support (BLS); BLS – Instructor and BLS – Provisional.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all Well Star Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
