Job Title
RN Acute Care
ShiftFull‑time Night shift 7 p.m.–7 a.m. (3 days per week) in the Surgery/Bariatric unit at Wellstar Kennestone Medical Center.

- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment; planning; implementation; and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence‑based practice.
- Use analytical and critical thinking to ensure care is individualized.
- Coordinate care through effective partnerships recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Practice relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that is consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Conduct bedside shift reports, keeping patients and significant others updated and focusing on the patient’s goals.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care; initiate and/or lead such activities and support shared governance at all levels.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce, modeling professional nursing practice and creating a healthy work environment.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing; participate in activities such as value analysis as part of the decision‑making process evaluating patient‑care products.
- Uphold all health‑care system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).
- Participate in data collection, pose relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, and proactively plan for the care of patients across the continuum in direct patient care.
- Collaborate with care managers and other health‑care team members to develop protocols and procedures when called upon or by self‑initiation.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- GA or Compact Nursing License.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience. Direct patient‑care experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
- Regulatory RN (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact.
Role is fully licensed, knowledgeable, and upholds the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association’s Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics.
