The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), RN to join our leadership team.

The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing and facility leadership to oversee daily clinical operations, support nursing staff, promote quality resident care, and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who is organized, dependable, hands‑on, and experienced in skilled nursing/long‑term care operations.

What You Will Do
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall management and daily operations of the Nursing Department.

  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Unit Managers, and other nursing personnel.

  • Assist with hiring, orientation, training, competency validation, performance management, and staff development.

  • Participate in Clinical Morning Meeting and ensure appropriate follow‑up on identified resident and clinical concerns.

  • Review the 24‑Hour Report
    , change‑in‑condition documentation, hospital transfers, new admissions, readmissions, incidents, falls, wounds, infections, and other high‑risk clinical areas.

  • Conduct routine clinical rounds throughout the facility to identify resident‑care, documentation, staffing, safety, and compliance concerns.

  • Assist with monitoring Point Click Care  (PCC), clinical dashboards, and other clinical systems to identify trends and areas requiring follow‑up.

  • Ensure physician orders, treatments, medications, care plans, assessments, and nursing documentation are accurate, timely, and consistent with each resident's current condition.

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacy, rehabilitation, MDS, Social Services, Infection Prevention, Dietary, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Assist with ensuring adequate nursing coverage and appropriate staffing based on resident acuity and facility needs.

  • Participate in the investigation and follow‑up of incidents, accidents, grievances, allegations, and changes in condition.

  • Support infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship programs.

  • Participate in QAPI, Performance Improvement Plans, clinical audits, and corrective action plans
    .

  • Assist with survey readiness and participate in Federal and State surveys, complaint investigations, and plans of correction as needed.

  • Monitor compliance with resident rights, abuse prevention, neglect prevention, privacy, dignity, and quality‑of‑care requirements.

  • Assist with reviewing hospitalizations and potentially avoidable transfers and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide direct clinical support when necessary and serve as a resource to nursing staff.

  • Participate in the Administrator‑on‑Call/Nursing Leadership rotation as assigned.

  • Serve as acting Director of Nursing when designated and in the DON's absence.

  • Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, communication, and a culture of safety throughout the Nursing Department.

  • Perform additional nursing leadership duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

What You Must Have
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
