Sprayberry Animal Hospital in Marietta, GA is seeking an experienced veterinary professional to join as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a stable, full-time role where skills are trusted, utilized, and valued. This is not an entry-level position. The hospital is a busy, small animal general practice providing high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care, and is part of the Innovetive Petcare network.

What You’ll Do as a Vet Tech/Assistant
  • Clinical & Surgical Support – Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures; support surgical induction, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery; prepare patients and surgical suites using proper sterile techniques; monitor patients post-operatively and report changes in condition.
  • Patient Care & Triage – Confidently handle and restrain patients of various sizes and temperaments; assist with triage of urgent cases and help guide appropriate referrals to local emergency hospitals; provide compassionate, efficient care in fast-paced situations.
  • Technical Responsibilities – Perform phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiology, and in-house lab work; administer oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications as directed; accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and communications in the medical record.
  • Client Communication & Team Support – Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and discharge instructions; maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas; collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
What We’re Looking For
  • Required Experience – 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting; confidence assisting in surgery and monitoring anesthesia; comfort triaging urgent cases and supporting referral decisions; strong technical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Credentials – LVT / RVT / CVT a plus, but not required; experienced, non-credentialed veterinary assistants will be considered.

Note:

This role is best suited for candidates with prior hands-on clinical experience.
