Overview
Service Cashier/Administrator handles processing payments for work completed or parts requests, reconciling repair orders and parts invoices, and collecting money from parts and service transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect each service repair order and/or parts invoice for proper completion and accuracy.
- Reconcile repair orders by transferring the appropriate information from the hard copy to the soft copy.
- Calculate material charges applicable for each order.
- Calculate taxes for goods or services taxed in the local area.
- Collect total retail charges from customers via cash, check, or authorized charge account, provide correct change and receipt.
- Complete the accounting section of the repair order as directed by the controller.
- Update the customer’s service history file per department procedures.
- Deliver all closed repair orders and parts invoices to the accounting department during the business day.
- Control keys associated with completed repair orders; return keys to customers/porter when bills are paid and direct customers to vehicle location.
- File repair orders as directed by the service department manager.
- Answer service department telephone, transfer calls or take messages when personnel unavailable.
- Control and turn sublet bills into the business office for repair orders.
- Handle customer complaints promptly with genuine concern and according to dealership guidelines.
- Report to management any safety, welfare, or integrity concerns for dealership, employees, or customers.
- Perform any other administrative tasks as directed by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, adding, subtracting, dividing, and comprehending written instructions and information.
- 6–12 months of previous work experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous industry experience (preferred).
