Business Development Manager - International Air/Ocean – Salary from $75k to $125k base plus commission. Excellent company benefits including 401k, dental, health and life insurance, paid time off, vision, car allowance, and commission. A book of business is advantageous. A minimum of 2/3 years of sales experience within the freight forwarding industry is required. A positive mentality and willingness to participate in a strong commission structure are expected.

Role
The BDM will be responsible for bringing on and maintaining a book of business, as well as growing regional import/export sales in Air/Ocean internationally.
- Develop new business through research, prospecting, and qualifying opportunities, including customer visits and relationship building within the defined geographical area.
- Increase market share within the assigned territory and achieve the financial budget for volume, revenue, and profit.
- Successfully close new business and onboard new clients.
- Increase market share within the existing client base.
- Maintain contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Pricing team on client pricing strategies and customer rate quotes.
- Monitor and maintain clients' credit lines within Company guidelines.
- Maintain and update the Company’s CRM.
- Provide regular communication and a monthly budget review for management.
- Manage allocated customers using established tools to achieve and exceed targets.
- Weekly follow up with new clients after first shipments.
- Share information about all contracts with customers and suppliers with relevant parties.
- Ensure customer requests related to commercial activities are completed in a timely manner at the highest service level.
- Adhere to client service level agreements.
- Confident in the ability to bring over current clients (no non-compete).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.
- Commitment to going above and beyond to fulfill client needs.
- High level of organization and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a technical understanding of a CRM system.
- Bringing a book of business is a plus.
