The Director of Development is responsible for generating and growing non-dues revenue for the Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA) through strategic sales and relationship management of Preferred Service Provider (PSP) memberships, Associate Member (AM) memberships, sponsor ships, advertising opportunities, and event partnerships. This role focuses on cultivating long-term relationships with industry partners while developing innovative opportunities that support CBA’s mission, member programs, advocacy initiatives, educational offerings, conferences, and networking events.

The Director of Development serves as a key liaison between CBA and our associate partners, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong retention, and consistent revenue growth.

Responsibilities

    • Digital and print marketing opportunities
    • Cultivation of innovative revenue streams beyond membership dues
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with current and prospective sponsors, advertisers, exhibitors, and strategic partners through regular engagement and outreach with PSP and AM members.
  • Prospect and secure new business opportunities through telephone, email, virtual, and in-person outreach.
  • Maintain and renew annual PSP memberships, AM memberships, sponsorship agreements, and advertising contracts.
  • Create customized sponsorship and advertising packages aligned with CBA’s mission to meet partner marketing goals and CBA member interests.
  • Oversee sponsor fulfillment and ensure all contractual benefits are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Manage and execute the profit and loss statement for PSP and AM memberships, sponsor ships, and advertising opportunities by working closely with internal staff on invoicing, receivables, and revenue tracking.
  • Coordinate exhibitor and sponsorship logistics for CBA events.
  • Manage exhibitor agreements, booth assignments, and onsite exhibitor relations.
  • Research, develop, and implement CBA Service Corporation initiatives, including negotiating vendor partnerships that deliver discounted services to member banks.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of sponsorship, advertising, and partnership programs to ensure competitiveness and value.
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend new revenue-generating opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Prepare reports related to sponsorship sales, advertising revenue, partnership renewals, and event participation.
  • Serve as staff liaison for Innovation, Membership, and Member Services committees.
  • Stays abreast of financial industry and follows industry changes, especially regulatory changes, to ensure vendors are providing appropriate products for our bank members that meet these changes.
  • 25-30% travel expected within CBA’s service footprint (onsite visits, CBA events, and industry meetings)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sponsorship sales, advertising sales, association management, or strategic partnerships. Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Self motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and customer focused. Demonstrated experience managing sponsor ships, exhibitor programs, advertising campaigns, and corporate partnerships strongly preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of association management and the banking industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales, marketing, relationship management, and revenue development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with corporate executives and industry leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and customer focused.
