Overview
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a skilled Building Controls Service Technician to serve as the primary customer contact for service-related controls tasks, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency service, and small repairs. In this role, you'll work closely with the dispatcher and team lead to manage daily assignments, support customers on-site and remotely, and provide detailed documentation of all work performed. Technicians interact regularly with customers, vendors, and team members, requiring strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Work environments vary from commercial buildings to schools, hospitals, and industrial sites, often requiring climbing, tight-space access, and occasional outdoor work. Overtime, on-call rotations, and irregular hours are common.

Schedule:
Full-time, M-F (8:00 AM-4:30 PM) - Overtime + On-Call Rotation Required
- 3+ years of building controls service or installation experience.
- Strong Windows/PC skills (software installs, file navigation, multi-meter use).
- HVAC or electrical background
- Ability to work in hot/cold environments, tight spaces, and on rooftops.
- Excellent communication, time management, and ethical work habits.
- Clean driving record, valid driver s license, and ability to pass drug screening.
- Associate degree
- Experience with Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, JCI, Siemens, or Trane systems
- Familiarity with IT systems
- OSHA 30 certification
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain building automation/control systems (Distech, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Niagara, etc.).
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service visits.
- Support customers remotely and on-site.
- Complete electronic reports accurately and on time.
- Conduct sales surveys and assist with scope development for projects.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle stock while following strict safety standards.
- Train apprentices/helpers and continue building your technical skillset.
