Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.
Pay &
Incentives:
- $31.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
- Quarterly bonus up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑on bonus $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm - Annual merit pay increases every year

We want a Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join our team working on heavy‑duty vehicles.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- All other certifications required by location
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must have at least 2 years experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder drug test
- Pass DOT physical
- Pass Ryder road test
- Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Performs standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrates ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Other support duties as required to support operations, including service island support
- Completes SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Completes 2 of the OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix within 365 days
