Position Information
Location:
Jim R Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Rd SW, Marietta GA 30008. Requires some night and weekend work.
Performs general maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, grounds, and related facilities, including building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and drywall, masonry, custodial, or other maintenance projects.
- General maintenance inspections and corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards.
- Plumbing tasks: troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, clear and unblock water lines and drains, repair steam lines, toilets, sinks, faucets, drinking fountains, solder pipes, and fix plumbing leaks.
- Electrical tasks: troubleshoot electrical problems; install and repair electrical receptacles, switches; replace breakers; replace light bulbs and ballasts.
- Building maintenance, carpentry, masonry or construction projects: paint interior and exterior surfaces; concrete work, plaster, sheetrock; repair floor and ceiling tiles; inspect, install and repair roofs; install, adjust and repair doors and hardware; replace windows, doors, glass panes; lubricate hardware; perform locksmith duties; related maintenance and repair activities.
- Determine materials needed; provide cost projections; gather equipment, tools, supplies; monitor inventory; order new or replacement materials.
- Set up and remove tables, chairs, stages for meetings, classes, special events.
- Purchase construction and maintenance related items; submit related financial paperwork to administrative staff.
- Other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by previous experience in building maintenance and repair.
Licenses and CertificationsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical AbilitiesTasks require regular and occasionally sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling moderately heavy objects (20–50 pounds) and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Sensory RequirementsSome tasks require perceiving and discriminating colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues; some require oral communication.
Environmental FactorsPerformance may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, smoke, noise extremes, electric currents.
