Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking experienced Track Hoe Operators to join our team. This is a full-time role reporting to the Foreman - Grading & Pipe. Nights and/or weekends may be required in addition to regular day shifts.

SummaryThe Track Hoe Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating hydraulic excavators to excavate, move, and grade earth for road construction projects while adhering to safety regulations and project specifications.
Essential Functions- Operate track hoe equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth for roadwork construction projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor adjustments on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and grade stakes.
- Work collaboratively with the Foreman and other team members to achieve daily production goals.
- Assist with other tasks as needed, including material handling and job site clean‑up.
- Other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or equivalent is desired but not required.
Physical and Environmental Aspects- Will need to be able to climb and descend steps/stairs and use handrails to enter/exit vehicles.

- Will be in a sitting position for long periods of time while driving and subject to the vibration of the equipment.
- Could bend, stoop, twist, and either stand or sit for long periods of time. Requires manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate the equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance.

There will be times the employee will not work as an operator and may have to assist with the crew in manual labor.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment—vest, steel‑toed boots, helmet.
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and to effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object.
- Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi‑limb coordination.
- Ability to quickly move arms and legs.
- Will require the ability to sit for an extended period of time and the eye/hand/feet ability and coordination to operate a manual transmission and clutch in both trucks and any other equipment being driven.
- Able to climb stairs/steps and to use handrails to climb and exit the equipment’s raised cab.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving and mechanical parts and equipment.

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
