Job Overview
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full‑time Early Career Software Engineer to develop command and control (C2) ground and mission control software for autonomous air vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities- Lead all phases of the technology development lifecycle: requirements generation, software design, coding, testing, integration, and flight test.
- Conduct integration activities with host systems, including live assets, simulated systems, laboratory environments, constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience using C, C++, or Lua.
- Experience developing on Windows or Linux.
- Willing to travel up to 10%.
- US citizenship.
- Security clearance required (Secret level).
- Experience with Agile Software Development.
- Experience using Agile process tools such as Jira.
- Experience with configuration management systems such as Git.
- Dev Ops experience using Git Lab.
- Python programming experience.
- Experience developing software for safety‑critical systems.
- Experience with networking protocols: IP, TCP/UDP, RTP, TLS.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Cpp Unit.
- Experience building custom Linux distributions with Yocto.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with service‑based application development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Position requires a government security clearance (Secret). The candidate must be a US citizen. The role is located at a facility requiring special access.
Working ConditionsOnsite full‑time. Travel up to 10% of the time.
Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
