The Assistant Superintendent works with all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the golf course. The assistant superintendent is expected to observe golf course conditions and make suggestions. He or she should be comfortable speaking in front of large groups and can speak basic workplace Spanish. The Assistant Superintendent is expected to interact with members throughout the day and always carry their self in a professional manner.
This person should have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, work well in a team environment, and be determined to grow and succeed in the golf industry.

- This individual works closely with the superintendent to supervise, schedule, and train a large crew of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Incorporate and enforce safe work practices. Provide safety training for employees as directed.
- Apply fertilizers and plant protectants, including calibration sprayers and spreaders. Record all applications and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform irrigation scheduling and make basic irrigation repairs.
- Execute and manage golf course improvement projects.
- Perform basic mowing tasks and cultural practices when needed.
- The ideal candidate will be able to recognize problems and have a keen eye for the details.

- 4-year Turfgrass Management Degree
- The ability to obtain a GA pesticide license within 6 months of employment
- 1-3 years of golf course maintenance experience
