Job Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Associate/Driver to join our Mayer team in Mariette, GA. The Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver I is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material to meet company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The role also includes a driving component and may involve operating a delivery vehicle for up to 50% of the time shipping products to and from customers, company branches, and suppliers (no CDL required).

The candidate will ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements and that materials are correct, free of damage, and handled safely.

What You’ll Do
  • Contribute to a safety-focused culture and environment.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules while addressing safety concerns.
  • Receive and verify incoming material against packing lists.
  • Stock incoming orders orderly, report freight damage claims, and prepare branch orders for shipment.
  • Process shipping paperwork and ensure correct postage, labeling, and insurance.
  • Operate forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machines as required.
  • Load common carrier and company vehicles, and perform minor equipment maintenance.
  • Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Operate delivery vehicles to and from customers, branches, and suppliers.
  • Conduct daily inspections of company vehicles and maintain cleanliness and service schedule.
  • Adhere to DOT, local, and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery and ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Pick up material returns and inspect condition, verifying quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Participate in training, mentorship, and coaching for entry-level truck drivers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including counter sales and customer support when needed.
What You’ll Need
  • No experience required.
  • Prior warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other equipment is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and minimum age of 21.
  • Pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Possess a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
  • No suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
  • No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • General knowledge of electrical products (a plus).
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Effective communication with coworkers and customers.
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
  • Basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete tasks.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not exceeding 26,000 GVW.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transport laws.
  • Availability for overtime as needed.
