POSITION SUMMARY:The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle on a dedicated daily out-of-state route to NC or GA. This role ensures timely, accurate, and damage-free transportation of materials while maintaining full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle between company locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policy.
- Transport materials safely, securely, and without damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), trip records, and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo when required.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and facility teams regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly and follow company maintenance procedures.
- Follow all company safety standards, PPE requirements, and defensive driving practices.
- Maintain professional conduct and represent the company in a safe and responsible manner.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Valid CDL Class A with acceptable driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum three (3) years commercial driving experience.
- Ability to meet FMCSA/DOT regulations and drug & alcohol testing requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inter-facility transport.
- Familiarity with ELD systems and electronic trip reporting.
- Experience operating tractor-trailer.
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight schedule consistently.
- This position requires long periods of sitting while driving.
- Ability to enter/exit truck cab, secure loads, and perform inspections.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
