DISTRICT TEST COORDINATOR / SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPERVISOR

Superintendent and Director of Student Services

Job Objectives

Supervise all district testing to include Ohio State Tests and to assist in implementing district wide special education services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio Administrative License K-12.
  • Knowledge and experience in coordination of special education services.
  • Expertise in the coordination and supervision of district testing, grades K, 3-8; 9-12.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administration of the following tests: KRA (Kindergarten);
    Iowa (grades 2 and
    5);
    Cog At (grades 2 and
    5);
    Ohio State Tests (grades 3-8, 9-12); OELPA; AASCD; ACT for Juniors at HS.
  • Supervise uploading of participating students into TIDE.
  • Verify student participation in each building.
  • Identify and order paper materials for disabled students.
  • Update user accounts for all test administrators.
  • Create test rosters through collaboration with building administrators.
  • Receive, inventory, deliver, and secure paper test materials for all buildings.
  • Maintain continuous communication with principals regarding new enrollees, withdrawn students, and test mode changes.
  • Order, inventory, and deliver all secure materials to each building, including Ewing and Juvenile Center.
  • Be available at all times during specific district test windows.
  • Collaborate with EMIS coordinator following test administrations.
  • Arrange family report mailings following each test administration.
  • For ACT Junior test, manage student data upload, special education accommodation approval, and secure material inventory and delivery.
  • Collaborate with district IT to ensure secure browser is uploaded on all devices.
  • Coordinate testing for students attending the Reach program.
  • Conduct annual updates with district personnel in all buildings.
  • Assist in Intervention Assistance Team activities, parent conferences, development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and periodic reviews to ensure appropriate services for students identified as having a disability.
  • Coordinate and oversee delivery of a continuum of special education services, including student records, testing, speech/language pathology, physical and occupational therapy, orientation/mobility, visual/hearing, and special needs transportation.
  • Comply with state model policies and procedures for the education of students identified as having a disability.
  • Keep current with K-12 courses of study, the district's scope and sequence framework, and state standards and guidelines.
  • Support IAT processes to help staff resolve problems that impede student learning.
  • Ensure services are provided in the least restrictive educational environment.
  • Maintain effective relationships with community services such as court systems, law enforcement, health care facilities, and child welfare services.
  • Express high expectations and monitor staff performance; collaborate with supervisors to improve staff competencies and support opportunities for staff to develop new skills.
  • Maintain high standards and uphold the student conduct code; assist teachers and administrators with discipline and pupil management issues.
  • Help teachers obtain instructional materials and supplies needed to ensure a consistent curriculum.
  • Promote open communication with parents and the community.
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities.
  • Accept personal responsibility for decisions and conduct; strive to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
  • Perform other specific job‑related duties as directed.
  • Participate as an active member of the district’s leadership team.
  • Uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures.
  • Oversee Title VI-B funding, develop and administer budget, elicit public participation to fulfill expenditures, and document in CCIP.
  • Plan and coordinate alternate assessment.
  • Prepare agenda information and participate in board of education meetings.
  • Maintain visibility, promote a favorable image of the school district, and build community partnerships that enhance district programs and services.
