- Participate in formal design reviews, provide technical feedback, and implement design improvements.
- Design, release, and evaluate prototypes while supporting fabrication and testing activities.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts based on prototype and production feedback.
- Independently manage smaller engineering projects, coordinating design activities and deliverables.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and service teams to ensure products meet operational and customer needs.
- Support product customization initiatives, engineering change orders (ECO/ECN), lifecycle management, and product optimization projects.
- Ensure design documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with company processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience in product design, manufacturing, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience designing power distribution, power protection, or electrical enclosure products.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety and compliance standards, including UL and IEC requirements.
- At least 2 years of experience using Solid Works for 3D modeling, assemblies, and mechanical design analysis.
- Experience performing thermal and structural evaluations of mechanical designs.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, manufacturing processes, assembly drawings, and design-for-manufacturability practices.
- Technical writing and documentation experience.
- Experience designing test fixtures or supporting product validation activities.
- Familiarity with switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), power panels, UL 891, and UL 508A standards is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
