Project Manager – Electrical Manufacturing
Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $120,000/year, with higher compensation available based on experience
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom electrical equipment projects from initial requirements through engineering, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and closeout. This role coordinates multiple departments while keeping projects on schedule, managing customer communication, and addressing risks and changes throughout execution.
Core Responsibilities- Lead projects from requirements capture through engineering, procurement, production, testing, shipment, and final closeout.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate activities across sales, application engineering, design engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics.
- Build and maintain project schedules and monitor key milestones.
- Establish delivery targets based on material availability and manufacturing capacity.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and track open actions through completion.
- Manage customer requests, engineering changes, and resulting schedule impacts.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
- Identify project risks and drive timely corrective action.
- Maintain project status reports, schedule information, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Manage multiple complex projects while maintaining clear priorities and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical environments.
- Experience with engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience working with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet
. - Strong communication, organization, and customer management skills.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- Experience with power distribution equipment, including switch gear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, or UPS systems
. - PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI
, or related electrical industry standards. - Experience coordinating FATs and customer witness testing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
