Power Distribution Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of power distribution equipment. This role combines electrical design, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, product documentation, and safety certification support.
What You'll Do- Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection, thermal considerations, mechanical packaging concepts, and interconnection hardware
. - Develop power and control circuits for switchboards and other power distribution equipment.
- Apply electrical engineering principles across analog/digital circuitry, magnetics, and thermal systems
. - Create engineering specifications, schematics,
Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other design documentation. - Support integration and qualification of third-party devices into power distribution products.
- Participate in hardware design reviews and evaluate product robustness.
- Develop and support test procedures, technical reports, manufacturing documentation, and customer materials.
- Provide sustaining engineering support for both new and existing power protection systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems using hands-on diagnostic methods.
- Assist with product safety certifications and testing through NRTL organizations
, including UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software
. - Experience designing power distribution equipment such as PDU, STS, RPP, and switchboards
.
- Experience using electrical laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators
. - Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and power systems
. - Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with

, contributing to electrical product design from development and qualification through manufacturing, certification, and sustaining engineering.
