Position Summary
The Nurse Coordinator RN is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all clinical support activities in the Practice. They provide professional clinical assistance to patients within the practice and support physicians. Working directly with physicians, the coordinator acts as liaison between patients and physicians to establish and maintain quality patient care. The role performs all duties in accordance with clinic protocols and procedures.
EssentialResponsibilities / Duties
- Provides superior customer service to clients, customers, and patients.
- Utilizes clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Assesses patients and families as appropriate.
- Plans and implements clinical care and facilitates its delivery to patients and family members.
- Evaluates the process and outcome of clinical services and makes suggestions for improvement.
- Documents according to practice policies and procedures.
- Promotes professional clinical care within legal and ethical standards.
- Provides education/consultation to health care team members and patients/families as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth.
- Encourages teamwork with other employees.
- Demonstrates flexibility, creativity, and problem solving.
- Uses resources and completes assignments cost‑effectively.
- Adapts to changing workloads and assists others.
- Demonstrates leadership through prioritizing care assignments and delegation.

- Assists with determining staffing levels, recruiting new clinical staff, and evaluating performance.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures.
- Maintains medical supply and pharmacy inventory and places orders as needed.
- Ensures compliance with code and accreditation standards (OSHA, DPH, JCAHO, CLIA, HIPAA).
- Administers vaccinations and injections, infusions and biologics.
- Triage telephone calls and schedule urgent care appointments.
- Coordinates patient care with outside providers and agencies.
- Performs related duties as directed.
- BSN in Nursing and at least 3 years in a clinical setting.
Education and Experience
- At least 1 year of clinical experience with sub‑specialties.
- Experience in an office setting related to internal medicine.
- Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
