Position Summary:

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for the leadership, administration, and oversight of all aspects of an NCAA Division III men's baseball program. This includes coaching, recruitment, player development, academic support, budget management, compliance, and fostering a positive team culture consistent with the mission and values of the college and NCAA Division III philosophy.

Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Plan and execute all practice sessions, training programs, and in-game coaching with a focus on skill development, team strategy, and sportsmanship.
  • Develop and implement a recruiting plan to attract and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
  • Teach either a 3 credit or a 1 credit class; perform game day management duties and/or direct intramurals.
  • Support academic success and monitor progress of student-athletes.
  • Manage the baseball program budget, including travel, equipment, and operational expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA Division III, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.
  • Participate in fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach.
  • Schedule and manage facilities and/or perform grounds work at Pioneer Park.

    Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
  • Collegiate playing experience.
  • Proven success in recruiting and player development.
  • Experience managing a budget and supervising staff.
  • Strong understanding of NCAA Division III rules and philosophy.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift equipment and perform physical tasks related to practices and field set up.
