Job Overview

The City of Marinette Department of Public Works is hiring a Forester to manage and maintain the City's urban forest, parks, and right-of-way tree population. This role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in the community by helping keep our parks, neighborhoods, and public spaces safe, healthy, and beautiful.

• Plan and perform forestry, arboriculture, and landscape maintenance activities including tree planting, pruning, removals, and inspections.
• Operate equipment and perform public interaction related to tree management.
• Supervise crews, coordinate contractors, and assist with grant projects.
• Respond to storm or emergency events as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• One to two years of related experience preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Ability to obtain aerial lift certification and Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor.

Location:

Marinette, WI Salary: up to $33.45 per hour (eligible for annual COLA pending City Council approval)
