Buyer, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Fincantieri Marine Group is hiring for a Buyer in the Purchasing Department at our Marinette, WI location.

This position is responsible for executing the procurement of goods and services in the shipyard, directly supporting manufacturing operations for the construction of vessels. The Buyer would be the primary contact with suppliers and internal customers in the areas of supplier performance, disposition of hardware, flow of material to yard, RFQ requests, and purchase order placement. This role involves prompt communication of any material shortages or non-conformances, spearheading solutions to mitigate disruption to the production schedule.

Domestic travel may be required.

• Maintain data integrity and provide timely communication of production shortages affecting production.
• Material ordering and receiving discrepancies, expediting with delivery status of materials and software deliverables, RFQ's, and supplier performance, negotiating with vendors, conducting vendor market research, issuing of Purchase Orders and all related supporting documentation.
• Provide assistance with in-plant test dates and material disposition, technical assistance of material specifications, contractual advice with terms and conditions, invoice reconciliation, parts and schedule information and clarifying provisioning and technical manual submittals.
• Assist with receiving/inventory discrepancies, procurement inspection reports, order quantities, packaging requirements, material ordering, expediting, and production shortages.
• Other duties as assigned.
