At STELIA North America, we are an aerospace and defense company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Quality Assurance Team in Lunenburg, NS.
AccountabilitiesLead all aspects of STELIA North America’s corporate quality requirements and quality activities for all facilities. Promote a strong culture of quality and improvement focused on deep employee engagement and customer performance focus through rigorous attention to detail and prevention of defects. Create and implement best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance. Ensure that quality strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets.
Ensure that transformational strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of implementation planning, execution and perks realization. Represent the business to external stakeholders in both audits and collaborative work on quality activities. Continually develop both the immediate team and the broader organization to attain operational excellence aligned with our strategy. Develop, review and verify compliance for proposals, ongoing contracts, and renegotiation of existing business, ensuring contracted quality opportunities are achievable.
Maintain certification and compliance efforts for AS9100, NADCAP and other required certifications.
- Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering / Science, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience leading people or functions.
- 5+ years’ experience in AS/EN9100, ISO
9001 or NADCAP. - ASQ designation (e.g., Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Auditor, Quality Engineer) or quality systems / operations leadership experience is an asset.
- Experience in leading and implementing improvement and operational excellence projects (Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraint, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data, analytics, computers and M365.
- Proven progressive leadership experience.
- High degree of Emotional Intelligence to connect authentically, communicate effectively, and thrive collectively daily and lead change in the workplace.
