Apartment Building Technician

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Apartment Building Technician to support safe, well-maintained housing for residents in our mission-driven programs. In this on-site role, you'll perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC issues, and respond to work orders and emergencies. You'll complete inspections, assist with unit turnovers, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance for apartment building systems, fixtures, and common areas
• Respond promptly to work orders, repairs, and emergency maintenance requests from residents and staff
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC issues within scope of role
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health and housing standards
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or larger projects as directed
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, supplies, and equipment usage
• Support move-in/move-out inspections and unit turnovers, ensuring units are safe and ready for residents
• Uphold LSS safety, trauma-informed, and customer service standards in interactions with residents and colleagues
