Industrial Electrician

Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturing organization, is looking for an E&I Professional to join its maintenance team, supporting the reliability and performance of complex automated production and utility systems.

This is a hands-on position suited to an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
, or a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical and instrumentation bias. For early career professionals, there are also the option of developmental programs at our client.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, instrumentation, control and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults involving motors, MCCs, VFDs, control panels, PLC-controlled equipment and electrical distribution systems
  .
• Maintain and troubleshoot process instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, flow and proximity sensors
  .
• Fault-find and maintain control valves, actuators, solenoids, pumps, motors and associated process equipment
  .
• Use electrical test equipment to diagnose faults and identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and instrumentation documentation
  .
• Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLC I/O, sensors, interlocks and control circuits, working alongside engineering and maintenance teams where required.
• Maintain instrumentation associated with pumping, fluid handling, compressed air, steam, water and other industrial utility systems

• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, commissioning and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site HSE procedures and electrical standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate recurring faults or reliability issues to the wider engineering team.

• Proven experience as an E&I Technician, Electrical Technician, Controls Technician or multi-skilled Maintenance Technician within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and maintenance capability.
• Practical instrumentation experience covering sensors, transmitters, control valves, actuators and process measurement equipment
  .
• Experience working with VFDs, motors, MCCs, PLCs and industrial control systems
  .
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
• Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with industrial process equipment such as pumps, conveyors, motors, valves and automated machinery
  .
• Formal electrical qualification or recognised industrial electrical training.
• PLC/controls experience would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with industrial utilities and process systems would be beneficial.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and preventative maintenance skills.
• Comfortable working independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
