Equipment Operator

Job Overview

The City of Marinette is seeking a dedicated heavy equipment operator to join our Public Works team. The role involves operating construction and maintenance equipment such as excavators, loaders, and trucks, performing road repair, snow plowing, and general maintenance of streets and public infrastructure, and conducting routine inspections and basic maintenance.

• Operate construction and maintenance equipment (excavators, loaders, trucks).
• Perform road repair, snow plowing, and general street maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with on‑call work during snow removal operations or emergencies.

• Valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Tier 1 Class B or C with N endorsement.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in equipment operation, road maintenance, or construction.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Resident of Marinette or within 30 miles of the jurisdictional boundary at time of hire (must establish residency within six months of hire).
