IPAC Marion Chemicals - Plant Manager Position Description
Position SummaryThe Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable operation of the IPAC Marion Chemicals manufacturing facility. This position provides daily leadership for plant operations, personnel, production, quality, maintenance, inventory management, and customer fulfillment, while ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Plant Manager is also accountable for advancing continuous improvement initiatives, implementing approved capital projects, managing operating performance, and supporting the sustained growth of the Marion facility.
LocationThis is a full-time, on-site position based at the IPAC Marion Chemicals manufacturing facility in Marion, Illinois. The Plant Manager is expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility and be available as required to support plant operations and emergency response.
Reporting and Key Working Relationships- Reports to VP of Global Operations and works closely with this position to ensure seamless operations to serve IPAC local US and export customers

- Partners with Technical, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Sales
- Primary operational interface for managing plant compliance, quality, safety, inventory management and on-time product shipments to customers.

- No preventable serious injuries or significant environmental incidents.
- No material regulatory violations or missed permit/reporting deadlines.
- Timely reporting and investigation of all safety incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
- 100% compliance of required regulatory and safety training.
- Cost tracking and communication for key expenditures at facility
- Preventive maintenance completion based on management approval & direction.
- Approved capital projects completed against agreed scope, budget, and schedule.
- Continuous improvement projects that produce measurable improvements in safety, throughput, cost, quality, reliability, and working capital.
- Bachelor of Science degree
- Minimum 10 years work experience in chemical, lubricant, specialty chemical, batch manufacturing, process manufacturing, or a closely related industrial production plant environment in various roles of production, quality and management.
- Minimum 10 years supervisory plant experience
- EHS knowledge and understanding
- ERP/inventory management capability
- Demonstrated experience leading plant personnel and managing a production facility
- Ability to enter production areas safely
- Climb stairs where necessary
- Wear required PPE
- Respond to plant emergencies outside normal business hours when required.
