Community Education Coordinator I (Part-Time Position)
Hospice of Southern Illinois is a not‑for‑profit, free‑standing, community‑based hospice offering compassionate care to patients of all ages at the end of life. The organization seeks a community‑focused member to serve in this part‑time position based in Marion, IL.
Essential Functions- Establish positive relationships with referral sources, enhance knowledge of the agency and its services, and support the organization’s attainment of strategic goals in line with regulatory and agency policies.
- Assist the Community Education Manager with community and marketing activities in the service area.
- Liaise between referral sources and the clinical team.
- Collaborate with the Public Relations & Communications Specialist to ensure social media and print communications meet organizational mission and branding requirements.
- Work autonomously and efficiently while managing multiple projects, maintaining organization, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Represent Hospice of Southern Illinois professionally and promote the organization’s mission, services, and values during community outreach activities, educational programs, and networking events.
- Monitor community needs, referral trends, and educational opportunities within assigned territories, communicating observations and recommendations to the Community Education Manager.
- Adapt communication and relationship‑building strategies to meet the needs of diverse referral sources and community partners.
24 hours weekly / 48 hours bi‑weekly. Preferred days:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but flexible on days and times.
$23.50 per hour, part‑time non‑exempt.
LocationPatient Services Office, 204 North Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959. Travel within all counties served by the Marion office. Company vehicle use or mileage reimbursement of $0.70 per mile for personal vehicle use.
