Summary of Position
A Medication Assistant Treatment Nurse, also known as “Dosing Nurse,” provides nursing care to patients with addiction. The role monitors and adjusts medication within limits approved by the prescriber, administers medication per Federal OMT Guidelines, assesses for intoxication, and serves as a liaison among the client, staff, and other care providers as needed. The nurse provides information, education, and support to clients.
Responsibilities- Administers medications to patients, monitors dosage, side effects, and documents reactions, including Methadone and other prescribed medications.
- Provides medication training to patients, their families, or guardians to administer medication, monitor dosage levels, and watch for side effects.
- Obtains laboratory specimens and assists the prescriber with patient examinations and continuity of care arrangements with other providers.
- Conducts intake for recipients entering services, explaining services, gathering information, documenting assessments, obtaining signatures, and processing materials as assigned.
- Assists service recipients with linkages to internal and external resources in accordance with treatment plans and in coordination with the Integrated Healthcare Team.
- Maintains contact with referral sources, providing information on client progress, behavior, and needs where appropriate and maintaining ongoing consultation when needed.
- Participates in committees, staff meetings, clinical staffings, and other internal meetings as assigned.
- Effectively communicates via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
- Skilled in customer service techniques.

- Skilled in basic nursing techniques.
- Education:
Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program. - Years of

Registered Nurse.

Pay Range: $29.63–$41.54 per hour.
